For this week’s writing journey the word PROCESS comes to mind.
My fascinating Illustrator @pencilmasterdigi will soon begin work on adding color to the sketches for my children’s book. ๐Can’t wait to see the sketches come to life in color. In the meantime, there are so many steps to work on prior to review of the sketches to give feedback. I’m organizing my goals each day by working on tasks that I place on my calendar at the start of each morning. This helps to decrease the overwhelm because there is always something to complete in the self-publishing process. As Desmond Tutu once stated, โthere is only one way to eat an elephant: a bite at a time.โ ๐ Breaking down goals for the week into tasks helps to make and create a sense of accomplishment for the long list that I need to tackle in front of me. ๐
Here’s a snippet of this week’s goals:
1) Meeting with my creative graphic designer @praisedservices to complete the cover and mock-up for the children’s book. (Cover reveals COMING SOON!)
2) Meeting with a professional designer to complete my 6 page Media Kit that I should have back on tomorrow.
3) I created two blog posts this week and added them to my website.
And I did the same with creating goals and a task list for my new cookbook Coming Soon. ๐ฉ๐พโ๐ณ
I’ve written down my goals and I’m currently working on my Saturday task list. ๐ What tips can you share with me that helps keep you on task?

Hi Lauretha , I love your characters ! one of my favorite hacks is the old fashioned egg timer , set to 15 minutes at a time or longer depending on the task. I used to use it with my kiddos but it works well for me too!
Thank you! Yes, I used that back in the day as well with my kids for the same. We must be around the same age, Betsy! lol
