What to Do When My Life Is Caught Up In a Storm

WHAT TO DO WHEN MY LIFE IS CAUGHT UP IN A STORM

Many times we find ourselves going into, coming out of, or right smack dab in the midst of a storm. And the main thing is will we survive whatever we are dealing with in the heat of the moment or just give up. In this poem, I want to share with you what to do when you are faced with a storm just as Paul…even when it feels like you’re about to go under. Hold on because there is a way of escape.

Passages for Reflection: Acts 27:13-42; 2 Timothy 1:7; I Corinthians 15:58

Paul was caught up in a storm, even though he was a righteous man.

He was on his way to Rome when a typhoon arose and took him away from the destination that was planned.

Sometimes you feel as if your life is one big storm after another and you become appalled.

You are faced with crisis and challenges that you did not ask for, where your back is against the wall.

Oh, you may start out with a plan but a storm may take you away from your destination.

A spiritual storm can take you way off from the course of your navigation.

You may be confused that you lose all hope to be saved.

Yet God gives us a way to escape out of the storm and to make the winds behave.

We need to be of good cheer, rejoice, and praise the Lord at all times.

Don’t be afraid because God did not give us the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We then need to have patience and believe God verbatim.

For we walk by faith and not by sight, and therefore should put our trust in Him.

Don’t you dare jump ship or you will destroy yourself as you flee.

God has a way out of the storm even though it may not be the way out that you figured it would be.

For in Paul’s instance some swam, some on boards, some on broken pieces of the ship as they all escaped to safe land.

To find your way out of the storm be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the works of the Lord as He has planned.

Remember that even when you can’t see your way through your darkest storms in life that God is there to rescue you. You are never alone. It is only a TEST! I repeat, it is only a TEST! At times you are being tested to see if you will just throw in the towel or stand up to speak to your storms and declare, PEACE BE STILL!

Do I get afraid at times? Most certainly, but I refuse to be paralyzed with fear to just lie down and die. Especially when deliverance for what we are currently going through is in our mouth. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. We can complain and remain stuck in our storms. Or we can call those things that be not as though they were. Some things you must keep calling them out as you see them (by faith) until you see what you are declaring aloud in the atmosphere manifests from heaven to earth. I DECLARE that freedom and victory are ours in Jesus name. We have victory in our homes, finances, relationships, and on our jobs, in Jesus name! Thank God that He always provides a way of escape. Amen!

Be encouraged to stand in faith and continue to Rest on His Promises for they ALL are “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ.

Blessings and Love,
Lauretha
