Can You Drink the 8?!

Infused water 3

I found myself being able to get six-eight 8-oz glasses of water during Monday through Friday. However it really dwindled down to drinking only four 8-oz glasses of water on Saturday and Sunday. So I decided to poll individuals to see if anyone else is also having a challenge with drinking the proper intake of water. Most individuals on average are getting in about five 8-oz glasses of water daily.

Some individuals just have a hard time drinking all that water for various reasons. I’ve been told by numerous people that they simply don’t like the taste of water! If you are one of those people, or you have kids like one of mine that just doesn’t like the taste of water, then spice up their water! Infused water not only tastes great, but it also has some additional nutritional benefits. You can create your own infused water with herbs, spices, fresh fruit, or veggies.

It has great health benefits such as: flushing out the toxins in your system, reduces muscle fatigue while working out, improves your mood, boosts metabolism, and keeps you from feeling groggy in the afternoon. You can locate recipes to mix and match for your taste. I happen to be following an “Infused Water” board on Pinterest.

Here is the recipe that I tried over the weekend and will include it in my 30 DAY WATER CHALLENGE that is delicious! It will make infused water for about 2 quarts of water. Combine 1 sliced lemon, 1 sliced orange, and 1 oz peeled and sliced ginger root. Cut the fruit into wheels and gently roll the ginger root with your hand to aid in release of natural oils. If not organic be sure to cut the rind off of the fruit. Add water and ice cubes in a pitcher, bottle, or mason jar. You then want to let it infuse for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Many of us are looking to enjoy the health benefits from drinking water but may need to have others hold us accountable, me included! So if you are up for the challenge we are going to increase our intake of water for the next 30 days with drinking a minimum of eight 8-oz glasses of water daily. We are beginning on Monday, July 21st and we invite you to join us.

To come aboard simply go to www.facebook.com/mindshapeup and say, “Im in!” or “Yes!” and let us know at the end of each day how many 8-oz glasses of water you drank. It has been said that what we do for 30 days becomes a habit. Cheers to your health improving.
