Time to Set Goals that Stick: 5 quick steps to getting started
WOW! Can you believe it?! This New Year is cruising right along and it’s almost the middle of the month. Yep, this is the time of the year when millions of people around the world are looking back over the last year to see what they have accomplished. Or perhaps reflecting on the procrastination of goals that must be carried into the New Year. Which category do you find yourself in? For me, it’s both. Hopefully, the year didn’t come and go with no goals being set at all.
Once people get over the sinking feeling of all that was not accomplished then the mind starts to shift and think about their goals for the New Year. We know most of these goals center around weight loss, investing in going back to school, or the potential for growing one’s business. The problem is that a lot of the ideas never make it from the mind to actually writing out a plan to put feet to what they have been thinking. And you know the proverbial saying, “a goal without a plan is just a wish.”
So how is this year going to be any different as we continue moving forward? Do you plan to keep on wishing or actually set some concrete goals? It’s really not all that difficult if you decide to create smart goals. And there are plenty of resources and tools available to help you.
5 STEPS TO S.M.A.R.T. GOALS:
SPECIFIC – you want to have specific goals for every area of your life; if you haven’t done so yet began to meditate and pray in a quiet place to jot them down. Make sure you know exactly what you want to accomplish: quit smoking, go back to school, or pay off college loans. Whatever it is, it needs to be specific.
Watch the video for the 5 quick and easy steps to S.M.A.R.T. goal setting that I use.
