This Cabbage, turkey sausage and veggies is a delicious combo for a hearty one-pot meal. Enjoy with or without the turkey sausage. Good to serve on a cold winter’s night with cornbread.

Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients
•12 oz. skinless turkey smoked sausage links
•1 cup sliced baby portobello mushrooms
•1 green and red bell pepper sliced
•3/4 cup shredded carrots
•1 medium onion
•1 large head cabbage, quartered
•1 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
•1/2 teaspoon lemon-pepper, or to taste
•2 tbsp of coconut oil
Instructions
1. Place the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Quarter the cabbage and add to the skillet. Season with salt and lemon-pepper. Place the sausage, onions, and mushrooms, and carrots on top. Then cover with a lid.
3. Stir periodically for 30 minutes, or until vegetables are tender. Slice and add the turkey sausage during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking.
4. Serve.
5. Enjoy!
Recipe Note: Other additions you may want to season with are garlic powder, ground basil leaves, chives, and thyme.

This looks absolutely delicious! In Guyana we cook cabbage with ground beef – not my favorite accompaniment, but it’s pretty good when my Mom makes it.
Thank you so much! I’ve not tried it with beef but anything coming from a homemade mom meal is always good! I add mushrooms for myself and the turkey sausage or kielbasa for my meat lovers.
